Role Summary
The Timing and Communication Product Group seeks a test engineer to develop ATE test programs and test hardware for SyncE/1588 timing, clock distribution, and frequency synthesizer products. The role covers specification, characterization, and volume manufacturing support.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5+ years developing ATE test programs for integrated circuits.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities cover test program development, hardware for ATE, and product release support.
- Develop and maintain ATE test programs for timing-based products (SyncE/1588, clock distribution, frequency synthesizers).
- Define and develop high-speed, low-noise ATE test boards and validate board performance.
- Review product specifications and advise design teams on manufacturability and testability.
- Collaborate with applications, product, marketing, and reliability teams to meet release goals and schedules.
- Establish manufacturing guard-bands using characterization and repeatability data.
- Support customer sampling, subcontractor testing, and offshore volume production ramps.
- Drive product cost reduction, yield improvement, and test capacity optimization.
- Analyze customer-returned devices and support customer technical requirements and evaluations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.
- Extensive knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory, and IC testing.
- Experience with ATE systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Able to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred:
- ATE programming experience with Advantest Smartest and Cohu Unison programming environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. The posting also references 5+ years of experience developing ATE test programs for integrated circuits.
