Job Title

Senior Engineer I - Physical Design

Role Summary

Member of the physical design team responsible for implementing integrated circuit designs into manufacturable layouts. Collaborates with RTL, timing, verification and CAD teams to achieve timing, area, and power goals and to deliver tapeout-ready designs.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical candidates have multiple years of relevant physical design experience (commonly 5+ years) working on digital ASIC/SoC implementation flows.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include implementation and delivery of physical design tasks and supporting the design team through closure and signoff.

  • Perform floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and ECO implementation to meet timing, area, and power targets.
  • Drive timing closure and debug timing violations with STA tools and signoff flows.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation to improve P&R and signoff efficiency.
  • Collaborate with RTL designers, verification, DFT, and CAD teams to resolve implementation issues.
  • Prepare design deliverables, documentation, and support tapeout procedures.
