Senior Engineer, Hardware Board Design
Role Summary
The Senior Hardware Board Design Engineer will plan, design, verify, and test complex electronic systems and board-level hardware for advanced ASIC products. The role works within the ASICS Engineering / Hardware Engineering group, collaborating with design, verification, validation, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready boards and test solutions.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on board-level hardware design, verification, bring-up, and production support.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems and board-level hardware (digital, analog, RF, optical where applicable).
- Lead or participate in implementation of advanced design rules and processes for hardware and integrated circuitry.
- Perform complex simulations and analyses to meet power, performance, and area targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate requirements, improve yield, test time, and product quality.
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing and bring-up solutions for leading-edge processes and products.
- Characterize reliability of materials and techniques; introduce automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and review technical documentation.
- Write and review detailed technical documentation for complex hardware projects.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for effective performance in this role.
- Extensive hardware engineering experience with board design, bring-up, and test for ASIC systems.
- Experience with circuit/logic design and validation (digital, analog, RF) and conducting complex simulations and analyses.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Practical experience using hardware measurement and validation instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.).
- Experience developing or using test systems, FPGA, and DSP-based test/measurement setups.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead engineering tasks, and provide guidance to others; technical leadership experience is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical information and influence cross-functional decisions.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field plus 6+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in the same fields plus 5+ years; OR PhD in the same fields plus 4+ years. Preferred: Master's degree. (Related fields and equivalent practical experience are accepted as indicated in the posting.)
