Senior Engineer - GPU Verification
QualcommJob Title
Senior Engineer - GPU Verification
Role Summary
Join the Qualcomm Graphics hardware verification team to own design verification (DV) for GPU features. The role focuses on developing SV/UVM testbenches, driving verification closure for one or more GPU blocks, and collaborating with design, systems and EDA/CAD teams to deliver silicon-quality IP.
Experience Level
Senior level. Role expects approximately 4–8 years of VLSI industry experience or equivalent.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities focus on verification ownership and ensuring robust, bug-free silicon delivery.
- Own DV for one or more GPU features or blocks, including requirement-to-RTL coverage.
- Design and implement SV/UVM-based testbenches and directed/stress/randomized tests tailored to the DUT.
- Develop verification plans, coverage models, and regression suites to drive closure.
- Debug RTL/TB issues using industry tools (e.g., Verdi) and root-cause failures.
- Integrate formal checks where appropriate and use formal tools to complement simulation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, systems, CAD/EDA) and communicate status and risks clearly.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 4–8 years of VLSI or hardware verification experience.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills with independent problem-solving ability.
- Expertise in HDLs: Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Proven experience developing SV/UVM-based testbenches and verification environments.
- Proficient in RTL/TB debugging using Verdi or similar waveform/debug tools.
- Hands-on experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Jasper, VC-Formal).
- Proficient scripting skills (Perl and/or Python) for testbench automation and flows.
- Preferred: knowledge of graphics architecture and experience with graphics APIs (OpenGL and/or Vulkan).
- Preferred: demonstrated use of multiple DV strategies or tools to achieve verification closure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field. Typical experience expectation tied to degree: Bachelor's + ≥3 years, Master's + ≥2 years, or PhD + ≥1 year of relevant hardware engineering or verification experience; equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
