Senior Engineer - DFT
AmbiqJob Title
Senior Engineer - DFT
Role Summary
Responsible for design-for-test (DFT) implementation for ultra-low-power SoCs operating at subthreshold/near-threshold voltages. The role focuses on scan insertion, MBIST, ATPG, and low-power DFT architecture and infrastructure, and works closely with RTL designers, physical design, power teams, and test engineers.
Experience Level
Senior-level - the posting specifies at least 10 years of experience in DFT implementation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform scan insertion, boundary scan, MBIST, and ATPG using standard EDA tools for ultra-low-power SoCs.
- Develop and implement low-power DFT architecture and infrastructure for complex SoCs.
- Generate structural test vectors and analyze/improve coverage, test time, and test cost.
- Run pre- and post-layout scan and MBIST simulations and develop test benches.
- Collaborate with designers on STA, physical, power, and logical issues related to DFT.
- Work with test engineering to bring up test vectors and production test programs on silicon.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- Must-have: 10+ years of DFT implementation experience.
- Must-have: Proficiency with DFT structures including scan (Stuck-At, At-Speed, Path-Delay), scan compression, boundary scan, and MBIST.
- Must-have: Experience designing and implementing hierarchical DFT architecture for complex SoCs.
- Must-have: Experience with ATPG, MBIST test-bench development, and pre/post-layout simulation; strong understanding of test coverage and test time analysis.
- Must-have: RTL experience and extensive knowledge of timing concepts and constraint development.
- Must-have: Experience collaborating with test engineering for production test bring-up.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Tcl) and gate-level simulation (GLS).
- Personal attributes: motivated, self-driven, attention to detail, strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering (ECE/EE) as stated in the posting.
