Job Title

Senior Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering

Role Summary

Design and deliver evaluation test hardware and software for high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits across wafer-probe and package environments. Work with design, layout, applications, and failure analysis teams to define test methodologies, create PCBs and test programs, and ensure characterization and qualification meet product requirements.

This role participates in new product development, supports production releases and customer returns, and manages project schedules. Partial telecommute: up to 2 days/week work from home.

Experience Level

Senior. Posting lists required practical experience: at least 12 months as a Design Evaluation Engineer or equivalent role focused on automating tests with laboratory test equipment.

Responsibilities

The role's core responsibilities include development, validation, and support of evaluation test solutions and alignment with product release schedules.

  • Develop and debug evaluation test hardware and software for analog and mixed-signal IC characterization and qualification in wafer-probe and package environments.
  • Define evaluation test methodologies, test plans, and test modes with design engineering teams.
  • Create evaluation test schematics and coordinate PCB layout with layout engineers.
  • Automate and debug test programs; correlate test results with design simulations and production tests.
  • Support local and offshore application teams for post‑release product use cases and issue resolution.
  • Assist Failure Analysis and customer return investigations as needed.
  • Participate in new product development and evaluate future evaluation test systems.
  • Manage and maintain project schedules aligned to product introductions and release dates.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for the role.

  • At least 12 months' experience as a Design Evaluation Engineer or related role automating tests with lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and temperature chambers.
  • Demonstrated programming expertise in C#, C++, Visual Studio, or Python for automating test hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., OrCAD, Cadence Allegro).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) for statistical analysis of IC characterization data.
  • Practical knowledge of signal processing techniques and analog/digital conversion to verify electrical specifications.
  • No travel required.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline is required; foreign education equivalents are accepted.
