Role Summary

Deliver and maintain CAD software, design flows, and automation for compute subsystems and SoCs, focused on power, performance, area and signoff quality. Work with internal engineering teams and external partners (foundries, EDA vendors, ecosystem) targeting advanced process nodes.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain tools and infrastructure that enable ASIC/SoC design and verification productivity.

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software applications and engineering tools.
• Develop automation to reduce manual tasks and improve engineering throughput.
• Debug complex software, system, and performance issues.
• Build and maintain APIs, command-line tools, databases, and supporting infrastructure.
• Create and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests; use CI/CD workflows.
• Use version control (Git) and participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards.
• Monitor and improve software reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, and external partners (foundry/EDA).
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies; produce technical documentation.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

• Must-have: Strong programming skills in one or more of Python, TCL, C/C++.
• Must-have: Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, OOP, and software design principles.
• Must-have: Experience with Linux/Unix, Git, debugging, scripting, and automation.
• Must-have: Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and REST APIs.
• Must-have: Experience with CI/CD, containers, and software testing methodologies.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with RTL synthesis tools, STA, power estimation/analysis, and physical design/signoff flows.
• Nice-to-have: Prior SoC design or CAD engineering experience focused on physical design and signoff.
• Nice-to-have: Working knowledge of agentic workflow models (OpenAI/Claude) and distributed systems.
