The CAD Applications Engineer provides production support for EDA tools and verification flows, focusing on improving automation reliability and verification productivity. The role works closely with Design, Layout, and Design Verification teams to debug tools, deploy scalable verification utilities, and optimize flows across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include developing and maintaining EDA automation and supporting verification teams.

• Develop, deploy, and support robust, configurable, and scalable tools for hardware verification across multiple projects.
• Collect and analyze metrics to improve automation reliability and verification performance.
• Debug vendor EDA tool issues and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve them.
• Support the Design Verification (DV) team and assist in solving verification problems.
• Implement new functionality and optimize existing methods and flows.
• Collaborate with Design and Layout teams to increase their productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

Key technical requirements and preferred skills.

• Must-have: Working knowledge of Verilog and/or SystemVerilog (including assertions).
• Must-have: Experience with simulators such as Incisive/Xcelium, Synopsys VCS, or ModelSim.
• Must-have: Strong programming skills in Python and/or Perl.
• Nice-to-have: TCL scripting experience.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with verification methodologies (UVM, VMM, OVM) and C/C++.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with coverage management tools (VMANAGER) and debug/visualization tools such as Verdi or SimVision.
• Nice-to-have: Front-end web development and UI experience.
