Job Title

Senior Engineer, Automotive Product and Test Engineering

Role Summary

Design and develop high-performance test solutions for first-silicon verification, characterization, qualification, and manufacturing of precision analog and mixed-signal products for Automotive customers. Work with design, systems/applications, and manufacturing teams to translate verification tests to Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and support production yield, quality, and cost goals.

Role participates in new product development teams, evaluates test systems for future applications, and manages project schedules to align with product introductions. Partial telecommute benefit: 2 days/week remote.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies at least 2 years of relevant experience as a Product and Test Engineer (see Education Requirements for degree expectations).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and supporting test systems across development and production.

  • Design, develop, and debug multi-site, cost-effective test hardware and software for wafer probe and final test.
  • Define test schematics and collaborate with layout engineers on multi-site PCB test hardware.
  • Develop and debug test programs and translate design-verification tests to ATE platforms.
  • Correlate production test results to engineering bench measurements and transfer test solutions to manufacturing sites.
  • Support manufacturing to maintain/improve production yield and quality, reduce test cost, and resolve product/test issues post-release.
  • Participate in new product development and evaluate new test systems and methods for future applications.
  • Manage and maintain project schedules aligned with product introduction and release.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience relevant to Automotive IC test engineering.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience developing automotive product test solutions for analog or mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Demonstrated expertise programming in C/C++ and scripting languages on Linux for analog/digital device testing.
  • Proven experience designing and debugging custom PCB hardware for interface to Advantest V93000 ATE.
  • Experience developing software and test programs on the Advantest V93000 ATE platform.
  • Experience developing functional and electrical tests, creating/simulating Verilog test cases and translating them to ATE for IC debugging, characterization, and manufacturing tests.
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools (Exensio, SAS JMP) to analyze characterization and production data and support yield/quality improvements.
  • Understanding of Automotive quality requirements and ability to perform ATE and bench debugging of customer returns.
  • Fundamental understanding of circuit design, silicon processing, and electronic reliability.

Nice-to-have: prior work with high-volume manufacturing transfers, experience optimizing test cost, or experience with additional ATE platforms or test automation frameworks.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related field (foreign education equivalent accepted). The posting specifies this degree together with two years of relevant Product and Test Engineering experience.
