Job Title

Senior Engineer, Analog Design Engineering

Role Summary

Design and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits from concept through production release. Work with cross-functional teams (layout, test, product, applications) to bring semiconductor products to market.

Position offers partial telecommute: up to 2 days per week remote.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities include design, verification, evaluation, and coordination across teams for analog/mixed-signal IC projects.

  • Design analog or digital circuits and perform chip-level integration with attention to yield and testability.
  • Simulate and model system- and block-level circuitry to develop new circuit techniques.
  • Evaluate silicon implementations via bench testing and advanced mixed-signal verification to confirm functionality and specs.
  • Troubleshoot silicon issues, identify deviations, recommend fixes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Document specifications, prepare technical reports and test plans, and present at peer design reviews.
  • Review physical layouts with layout engineers and recommend characterization approaches.
  • Lead and coordinate project activities across test, product, and applications teams to move products from concept to production.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (degree requirements summarized under Education Requirements).

  • Expertise in transistor-level analog design, simulation, layout, and verification using Cadence or equivalent tools.
  • Experience evaluating silicon on CMOS or BCD processes and debugging silicon implementations.
  • Participation in all phases of product development: debug, evaluation, characterization, qualification, and final test.
  • Strong understanding of device physics and semiconductor processing as applied to analog/mixed-signal IC blocks (amplifiers, comparators, bandgaps, oscillators).
  • Hands-on experience with lab and bench test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators) for circuit evaluation and failure analysis.

Education Requirements

Requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related technical discipline (foreign equivalents acceptable) plus ~2 years of experience as an Analog Design Engineer or equivalent. The posting also notes that relevant experience and skills may be gained during a PhD program.
