Job Title

Senior Engineer, Analog Design Engineering

Role Summary

Design and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits from concept through production release. Work with cross-functional teams (layout, test, product, and applications engineering) to evaluate silicon, debug designs in the lab, and implement corrective actions.

Primary focus areas include precision analog, mixed-signal, integrated power analog, and associated circuit simulation, modeling, and verification. Position supports a hybrid schedule (partial telecommute: 2 days/week).

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires at least 2 years of industry experience performing analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design (per job posting).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, verification, evaluation, and coordination of analog/mixed-signal IC development.

  • Design transistor-level analog and digital circuits, considering yield and testability.
  • Simulate and model system- and block-level circuitry to develop new circuits or techniques.
  • Evaluate and verify silicon using mixed-signal techniques to ensure functionality, accuracy, and reliability against specifications.
  • Perform lab/bench evaluation, characterization, and failure analysis; use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and similar equipment.
  • Troubleshoot silicon-level issues, identify deviations, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Review physical layouts with layout engineers and provide recommendations to characterize designs.
  • Lead and coordinate project activities across cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to production release.
  • Document design specifications, prepare technical reports, test plans, and present peer review materials.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Educational degree requirements are listed separately under Education Requirements.

  • Minimum: 2+ years of experience as an Analog Design Engineer or equivalent, performing analog or mixed-signal IC design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transistor-level design, simulation, layout, and verification using tools such as Cadence or equivalent.
  • Experience evaluating silicon implementations on CMOS or BCD processes.
  • Proven participation in all phases of new product development (debug, evaluation, characterization, qualification, final test).
  • Strong understanding of device physics and semiconductor processing relevant to analog/mixed-signal IC blocks (amplifiers, comparators, bandgaps, oscillators).
  • Hands-on bench test skills for circuit evaluation and characterization.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical activities and communicate design findings clearly.
  • Nice-to-have: prior experience with integrated power analog design or digital circuit integration; familiarity with multiple CMOS/BCD process nodes.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related technical field is required (foreign education equivalents accepted). The posting notes relevant experience may also be gained during a PhD program.
