Job Title
Senior Engineer, Advanced DRAM Process Integration
Role Summary
Lead process integration and device development for next-generation layered memory technology in Micron’s Technology Development R&D organization. The role focuses on translating device and materials concepts into manufacturable silicon, optimizing process flows, and resolving performance and reliability challenges.
Work within cross-functional R&D teams in an on-site fab environment to design and execute experiments, analyze results, and deliver product-ready technology solutions.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 10+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor process integration or advanced node development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading integration activities, driving experiments in the R&D fab, and delivering actionable technical solutions.
- Lead technology integration for layered memory devices, including charge storage components and thin-film transistors (TFTs).
- Develop and productize new device architectures from concept through silicon implementation.
- Design and optimize process flows to meet product performance and reliability targets.
- Plan, execute, and complete experiments in an R&D fab; collaborate with build, yield improvement, and probe teams.
- Analyze inline, defect, and parametric data to identify failure mechanisms and drive yield improvements.
- Communicate complex technical findings and recommended actions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 10+ years of industry experience in semiconductor process integration or advanced node development.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics and experimental design (DOE).
- Proven ability to lead multi-functional technical teams and manage complex projects.
- Hands-on experience executing experiments in an R&D fab environment and working with build/yield/probe functions.
- Experience analyzing process, defect, and parametric data to diagnose failures and improve yield.
- Effective written and verbal communication of technical results and recommendations.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with mainstream memory technologies (DRAM, NAND) and alternative memory architectures.
- Understanding of circuit and architecture interactions with advanced memory scaling.
- Experience in technology pathfinding or non-conventional architecture R&D.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (explicitly stated).
