Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Physical Implementation Engineer on the CPU implementation team focused on meeting frequency, power and area targets for next-generation processors (targeting 3nm and below).
The role works with micro-architecture designers, standard cell/macro teams and CAD flows to identify timing and power improvement opportunities and enable design trade-offs across performance, power and area.

Responsibilities
Contribute to physical implementation and CPU IP development by improving timing, power and area metrics and enabling design trade-offs.
- Analyze critical paths and timing across CPU IPs; identify and implement optimisations.
- Improve power and frequency metrics through synthesis, clock-tree and P&R flow changes.
- Work with micro-architecture and standard-cell/macro teams to evaluate design trade-offs (frequency, IPC, power, area).
- Develop and validate implementation strategies targeting advanced nodes (3nm and below).
- Collaborate across teams to deliver silicon-quality implementations meeting project constraints.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required or preferred for successful candidates.
- Must have: 3–6 years of experience in physical implementation or related ASIC/CPU implementation work.
- Experience with synthesis, clock-tree synthesis, place-and-route tools and methodologies.
- Practical understanding of power vs performance vs area trade-offs in CMOS designs.
- Familiarity with CPU micro-architecture concepts (cache, MMU, pipeline).
- Nice to have: scripting experience (Python, Perl, Tcl), strong UNIX/Linux proficiency and experience with code versioning (Git).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a university or engineering school in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent qualification) was requested in the posting.
