Senior Emulation Engineer

Role Summary

Validate complex AI accelerator and SoC architectures on emulation and prototyping platforms before tape-out. Work closely with design, verification, firmware, and software teams to accelerate pre-silicon validation and early bring-up.

Remote role based in India; hands-on work with emulation systems and test environments.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of SoC design or related pre-silicon validation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include maintaining emulation infrastructure, creating system-level test environments, and supporting pre- and post-silicon validation.

• Set up, maintain, and operate Siemens Veloce emulation and related prototyping platforms.
• Adapt SoC designs for emulation and FPGA-based prototyping workflows.
• Develop, debug, and maintain emulation testbenches and system-level environments.
• Support pre-silicon validation, power/performance analysis, and early software bring-up; participate in silicon bring-up and validation.
• Collaborate with design and verification teams to isolate design issues and accelerate debug cycles.
• Optimize emulation workloads to reduce turnaround time and improve throughput.
• Enable emulator-based OS and driver testing in coordination with firmware and software teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience for immediate contribution.

• Hands-on experience with emulation platforms (Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu) and FPGA prototyping systems (proFPGA, HAPS, Protium).
• Experience emulating high-speed I/O (PCIe, UCIe) and memory technologies (LPDDR, HBM).
• Strong understanding of digital design, RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog), and SoC architecture.
• Proficiency with hardware debug tools, waveform viewers, and logic analyzers.
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, Tcl, Perl) for infrastructure and test flow development.
• Familiarity with simulation, testbench environments, and UVM-based verification flows.
• Nice-to-have: SystemVerilog/UVM verification experience and hands-on C/C++ software development for bring-up.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (explicitly listed in the source).
