Senior Emulation Engineer

Role Summary

Join the emulation team to prepare designs for hardware emulation, run validation tests, and lead initial failure triage and debug. The role works with cross-functional technical teams to improve emulation testbenches, debugging workflows, and emulator build quality.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include preparing designs for emulation, executing tests, diagnosing failures, and improving testbench and debug infrastructure.

  • Build and prepare designs for emulation; run tests and identify failure points.
  • Capture waveforms for failing cases and perform initial triage and analysis.
  • Improve, maintain, and extend emulation testbench components, including custom IP and AVIP.
  • Work closely with SoC, RTL, firmware, and software teams to support debug efforts.
  • Develop and maintain scalable scripts and automation to be reused across product lines.
  • Analyze emulator performance and resource usage to optimize builds and debugging strategies.

Requirements

Core technical skills and hands-on experience required for the role.

  • Experience with hardware emulation platforms such as Mentor Veloce, Synopsys Zebu, or Cadence Palladium.
  • Strong scripting skills: Python, TCL, Bash, and Makefile.
  • Strong debugging skills across domains: CPU-internal issues, integration bugs, emulator configuration or synthesis issues, script errors, and Linux/software problems.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with IP integration topics: interconnects, bridges, tie-offs, MM registers, clocks, and resets.
  • Experience with RISC-V assembly and AMBA protocols (AHB/APB/AXI).
  • Experience with the Linux kernel and revision control systems such as Perforce and Git.

Education Requirements
