Senior Embedded Software Engineer (India) – Next-Generation Processor Development
Role Summary
Lead embedded Linux platform bring-up and product lifecycle work for SECQAI’s next-generation CHERI-enabled hardware. Collaborate with SoC, verification, security and software teams to deliver secure, production-ready firmware and platform software.
Hybrid role based in Bengaluru with occasional customer travel.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 9+ years of relevant embedded software experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead hardware bring-up and embedded Linux platform integration for CHERI-enabled devices.
- Implement and maintain low-level software such as device drivers, HALs, secure bootloaders and cryptographic components.
- Drive feature prioritization, roadmap planning, backlog management and defect resolution.
- Collaborate across software, SoC, verification, R&D and security teams to optimize designs and deliverables.
- Write and review detailed technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
- Mentor and lead engineering team members; participate in hiring and technical leadership activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and apply security best practices in development and deployment.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 9+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
- Hands-on implementation experience in at least two of: low-level drivers, HAL, secure bootloaders, cryptography.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams.
- Ability to take prototypes to production, strong problem-solving and self-starting attitude.
- Effective collaborator with high standards for code quality and documentation.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with RISC-V and CHERI instruction set architectures.
- Familiarity with secure systems and relevant security standards.
Education Requirements
B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field — or equivalent industry experience.
