Senior Embedded Engineer, Audio SW Systems

Role Summary

Senior embedded engineer responsible for audio software, driver development, firmware/algorithm implementation, and system integration for consumer devices. The role works with cross-functional hardware and software teams to integrate ADI audio ICs into target platforms.

Experience Level

Senior — experienced engineer. Source indicates 3+ years of software/firmware development experience, including at least 2+ years in the audio field.

Responsibilities

The core mission is to develop and integrate audio software and drivers, verify audio functionality across platforms, and support debugging and production readiness.

  • Develop device drivers for ADI audio integrated circuits.
  • Design, implement, and verify firmware and audio algorithms on target silicon and systems.
  • Create and execute audio test procedures on Linux, Windows, and other platforms.
  • Support system integration, debugging, and troubleshooting across multiple hardware platforms.
  • Support mass-production readiness and engineering as required.
  • Travel as required for integration or support (~10% travel).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 3+ years software or firmware development experience, with at least 2+ years in audio engineering.
  • Proven proficiency in C/C++ programming; strong coding and debugging skills.
  • Experience with embedded system software and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with ALSA drivers and audio driver development concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and system-level debugging abilities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Digital signal processing (DSP) knowledge.
  • Python scripting for test automation and tooling.
  • Experience with Android audio framework and mobile audio systems.
  • Experience developing Windows audio drivers and GUI development.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
