Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior member of the Hardware Engineering team responsible for electronics hardware and PCBA design for MANET radios and related R&D projects. Work includes schematic capture, mixed-signal PCB design, hardware bring-up, and cross-disciplinary integration with FPGA, software, and RF teams.

This position is based in West Los Angeles on a fixed hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days onsite per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 6 years of experience in mixed-signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.

Responsibilities

Design, validate, and support electronic hardware from schematic to production; collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate system-level functions.

• Component selection, schematic capture, and PCB design for systems based on FPGA SoCs, associated memory, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power circuitry.
• Design high-fidelity mixed-signal audio circuitry with strong noise immunity.
• Define PCB stack-up, materials, and manufacturing-ready design rules (including HDI routing).
• Perform hardware bring-up, bench testing, and root-cause analysis using lab equipment.
• Work with PCB Designers, Software, FPGA, and RF teams for system-level implementation and integration.
• Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC and isolation requirements for high-EMI environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Must-have

• Minimum six (6) years of experience in mixed-signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.
• Demonstrated expertise with complex mixed-signal PCB design and HDI routing.
• Experience with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers.
• Hardware-level implementation experience with digital communication peripherals such as USB 3.0, 10Gb Ethernet, I2C, and RS232.
• Experience designing power supply trees for high efficiency and low noise.
• Familiarity with common test equipment: DMM, bench power supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to U.S. federal contract requirements.
• Employment contingent on successful background check and drug test.

Nice-to-have

• Competency with simulation tools for high-speed digital and power-supply design.
• Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and Vivado.
• Experience with video codecs and Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark, and MIL-STD-461.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C.
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaborative teamwork skills.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
