Senior EDA Development Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the IC EDA design environment for Nexperia's IC teams. Works with international EDA colleagues and design teams to enable efficient tape-out, ensure DFM and foundry compliance, and optimize compute and tooling workflows.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 7+ years of EDA experience in a semiconductor environment.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include maintaining EDA environments, supporting designers and cross-team collaboration.
- Build, maintain, and improve the IC EDA design environment and tool flows.
- Guide design teams on efficient use of compute resources and tooling.
- Provide tool installation, licensing support, and design data management.
- Develop methodologies for tape-out to meet DFM and foundry requirements.
- Advocate and cross-train teams on modern EDA best practices.
- Collaborate with international EDA and design teams.
Requirements
Key skills and must-haves for this role.
- Proven experience in analog circuit design and simulation debugging.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as Cadence or SPICE.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and their impact on analog design.
- Experience with EDA tool installation, licensing, and design data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging complex issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
