Senior DPU Test Development Engineer, SDET
Role Summary
Develop, automate, and execute validation tests for NVIDIA BlueField DPU products and related networking features. Work with firmware and software teams to triage defects, verify fixes, and improve test coverage and tooling.
Experience Level
Senior β expects 5+ years of quality assurance or test development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test execution, automation, and collaboration with engineering and customer-facing teams.
- Execute validation test cases for BlueField DPU features (SOC, ASAP, VNET, VBLK) and E-W RDMA/PRDMA.
- Automate test cases and develop/maintain test automation scripts and QA tools.
- Work with development teams to triage issues, perform root-cause analysis, verify fixes, and define new tests.
- Design and develop integration and validation tests to improve product quality and uncover defects.
- Provide local customer support: reproduce customer issues and assist AE team in debugging and verification.
- Maintain test reporting, metrics, and documentation for validation activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes. Nice-to-have items are listed separately.
- Proficient with Unix/Linux environments and scripting (shell, Python).
- Experience with AI development tools used for test development and automation.
- Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
- Solid QA mindset: attention to detail, problem-solving, data analysis, and time management.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills; proactive, quick learner, and self-motivated.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with switches, routers, and NICs.
- Familiarity with virtualization/containerization: Docker, KVM, Hyper-V, VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools for test development.
Education Requirements
MS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
