Senior Director, Product Management & Demand Creation — Custom MCU Silicon
Role Summary
Lead product strategy, demand creation, and commercial outcomes for a custom MCU silicon platform based on MIPS architectures, including control-centric SoCs, automotive MCUs, and industrial embedded processors.
Serve as the platform business and product leader responsible for roadmap definition, go-to-market strategy, business development, and applications engineering to expand in automotive (zonal/domain), industrial control, and IoT markets.
Experience Level
Senior — 15+ years of semiconductor experience with MCUs, embedded processors, or SoCs.
Responsibilities
Drive platform definition, market adoption, and cross-functional execution for control-oriented silicon products.
- Define and lead the MCU platform roadmap: compute, peripherals, connectivity, and analog integration.
- Develop and execute demand-creation and market-penetration strategies for automotive (zonal, powertrain, body), industrial control, and IoT segments.
- Own product positioning and marketing strategy emphasizing performance, power efficiency, and total cost of ownership.
- Lead applications engineering and solution enablement (SDKs, reference platforms, system-level use cases).
- Build and convert a business development pipeline with key customers and ecosystem partners.
- Partner with hardware, software, and architecture teams to translate real-time performance, functional safety, and integration requirements into silicon platforms.
- Drive platform adoption models: standardization, reuse, and customization across multiple customer programs.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for immediate impact; concise and outcome-oriented.
- 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience with a strong background in MCUs, embedded processors, or SoCs.
- Proven track record managing product lines or platforms with measurable revenue ownership or growth impact.
- Experience coordinating across product, marketing, applications, and business development functions.
- Strong commercial and customer-engagement capabilities; experience building partnerships and pipelines.
- Ability to translate system-level requirements (real-time performance, functional safety) into product roadmaps.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
