Job Title

Senior Director, DfT and Test Development - HW Roadmap

Role Summary

The Director will lead DfT, Test, and ATE hardware design teams to define and deliver design-for-test (DfT), built-in self-test (BiST), test methods, and ATE hardware roadmaps that minimize cost-of-test across digital, analog/mixed-signal, memory (NVM), HSIO and RF IPs and SoCs.

Primary responsibilities include specifying DfT/BiST methodologies, defining ATE platform requirements for wafer-sort and final-test, and coordinating validation and factory integration of test hardware and flows aligned to multi-year product roadmaps.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies 15–20+ years of product/test experience and at least 10+ years of management experience; substantial hands-on DfT and ATE experience is required.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver test strategy, methods, and hardware to achieve high coverage, quality, and low cost-of-test for a broad set of products.

  • Define and implement DfT and BiST solutions across digital, NVM, HSIO, analog/mixed-signal, and RF IPs and SoCs.
  • Develop test flows, quality screens, and Test Method Libraries to standardize production testing and ATE platform usage.
  • Specify and drive ATE hardware platform roadmaps (5–10 year horizon) for probe and final test, including handlers, probers, sockets, and integration.
  • Define production test flows that maximize multi-site parallelism and minimize cost-of-test.
  • Set requirements for process and silicon characterization and coordinate NPDE validation activities.
  • Validate HW/SW at factory test cells and act as liaison between BU product engineering and factory operations for qualification and buyoff.
  • Capture gaps, lessons learned, and best practices and feed improvements back to Design, DfT, NPDE, and Cost Entitlement teams.
  • Support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements in all activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications for the role.

  • Must-have: 10+ years managing engineering teams; strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Must-have: Extensive experience defining and executing DfT and BiST strategies for digital, RF, and analog/mixed-signal products.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with ATE platforms, test cell definitions, and bringing products into high-volume production.
  • Must-have: Deep knowledge of production test flows, test instrumentation, and factory/test operations.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and related test methods (PCIe, DDR, USB, HDMI, LVDS, CSI/DSI, QSPI, etc.).
  • Must-have: Proven track record driving cost-reduction activities and understanding product financial metrics.
  • Nice-to-have: Project management skills, planning and organizational abilities, and strong written/verbal communication.

Education Requirements

Required: MSEE or BSEE. The posting specifies 15–20+ years of relevant product/test experience and at least 10+ years of management experience.
