Job Title

Senior Director, Device and SPICE Modeling

Role Summary

Lead the Device & SPICE Modeling group within the Advanced Technology Group (ATG). Responsible for co-developing advanced device technology with foundries, delivering accurate SPICE models based on test-chip data, and validating device performance and process readiness through test structures and tape-outs.

Provide device usage guidance and simulation support to internal design teams while coordinating roadmaps and model updates with foundry partners.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 18+ years overall experience in advanced silicon technology development, with at least 5 years in an engineering management role.

Responsibilities

Accountable for driving device technology, SPICE model accuracy, and validation efforts with foundries and internal stakeholders.

  • Evaluate and assess candidate device technologies for next-generation products.
  • Drive foundry device development roadmaps to meet speed, leakage, and variation targets.
  • Define and execute testchip plans; deliver device test structures for new process nodes to validate SPICE models and process readiness.
  • Collaborate with foundries to plan SPICE model updates and resolve model inaccuracies and device issues.
  • Provide device usage guidelines and SPICE simulation support to internal product and design teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Deep understanding of FinFET and GAA process technologies and BSIM device models.
  • Hands-on experience designing device test structures and performing SPICE simulations.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage cross-organization technical programs with foundry partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with tape-out procedures, RO test structures, and product scribe-line monitors.
  • Prior success defining device performance targets and conducting variation analysis.

Education Requirements

MS required; PhD preferred in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
