Senior Director, Datacenter Technology & Manufacturing
Role Summary
Lead Qualcomm's datacenter technology and manufacturing agenda within GMTO, integrating system-technology co-optimization (STCO), test, packaging, substrates, memory, power, thermal management, and system development into a single executable roadmap. This role reports to the GMTO lead and partners closely with the Datacenter GM, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and external manufacturing partners.
This is an office-based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Senior leadership and extensive experience in semiconductor hardware engineering, product development, and manufacturing are required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities cover strategy, supplier and capacity assurance, test capability, and cross-functional operating model.
- Lead datacenter technology and manufacturing strategy across test, packaging, substrates, memory, power, thermal and system development.
- Develop and own an integrated STCO roadmap aligned to 3–4 year product plans.
- Translate long-range datacenter requirements into actionable technology, manufacturing, capacity and capability plans.
- Drive qualification and scale for key datacenter technologies (e.g., QCM/HBM, EMIB, SI/PI, thermal).
- Secure supplier capacity across advanced-node wafer, substrates, OSAT/CM and memory, including multi-year capacity agreements.
- Manage execution of supply-chain assurance investments with strong capital and cost discipline.
- Stand up and scale datacenter test capability and hardware engineering deployment across sites.
- Establish burn-in, system-level test and thermal management strategies for server-class products.
- Create clear operating interfaces, accountability and joint planning cadence across GMTO and the Datacenter BU.
Requirements

- Proven senior leadership in semiconductor product development, test and manufacturing.
- Deep technical knowledge of advanced packaging, burn-in, system-level test, thermal management, SI/PI and server-class manufacturing.
- Experience negotiating and managing relationships with foundry, OSAT, substrate and memory suppliers and leading multi-year capacity discussions.
- Strong business judgment with demonstrated capital and cost discipline.
- Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed organization and establish scalable operational capabilities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of hardware engineering or related experience; OR Master’s in those fields with 9+ years; OR PhD in those fields with 8+ years.
