Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
Senior Director, Data Center GPU Performance Architecture
Role Summary
Lead end-to-end silicon performance and design execution across post-silicon phases for data center GPUs and related SoCs. Provide technical and organizational leadership for system-level performance attainment, HW/SW optimization, silicon debug, and sustained performance delivery.
Manage a global performance engineering organization (~30+ engineers, with potential growth), drive cross-functional alignment with architecture, design, validation, firmware, system software and product teams, and represent silicon performance in executive and customer engagements.
Experience Level
Senior — executive-level leadership role. Candidate should have extensive experience (senior management and technical leadership) in silicon design, performance architecture, or closely related domains.
Responsibilities
Accountable for delivering system performance and power targets across multiple silicon programs and for evolving methodologies and tooling for performance engineering.
- Own system-level performance attainment, HW/SW optimization, and sustained performance across silicon products.
- Lead post-silicon debug, regression, performance analysis, and optimization to meet product targets.
- Establish and evolve power and performance modeling, validation, and silicon bring-up methodologies.
- Drive execution across multiple silicon programs and mitigate technical and schedule risks.
- Partner with architecture, RTL design, verification, firmware, system software, and product management teams.
- Build, scale, and lead a global organization; manage senior technical leaders and develop succession plans.
- Set technical direction, performance expectations, and career development paths for the team.
- Represent silicon performance in executive reviews and customer/platform engineering engagements.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications for immediate impact.
- Extensive experience in silicon design engineering, performance architecture, or equivalent technical domain.
- Deep practical knowledge of SoC architecture, performance modeling, power analysis, and silicon debug.
- Proven experience leading large, global engineering teams and senior technical leaders.
- Demonstrated track record driving complex technical programs from concept through post-silicon execution.
- Experience with high-performance compute, AI accelerators, GPUs, or large-scale SoCs.
- Background in both hardware and system/software performance optimization.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, communication skills, and experience interfacing with external customers or partners.
- Ability to improve tools, flows, and best practices for silicon design and performance engineering.
