Role Summary

The Senior Digital Physical Design Engineer will work independently on the entire flow from RTL to GDSII, participating in the design of analog and power integrated circuits at Texas Instruments. This role focuses on delivering high-performance custom mobile electronics.

Experience Level

Senior level with 3–8 years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Understanding and influencing design, clock, reset, and DFT architectures for physical design needs.
  • Performing synthesis and static timing analysis closure.
  • Responsible for place and route, reliability, and physical verification closure.
  • Implementing methodologies for efficient clock tree and PD cycles.
  • Reducing power and area for competitive device designs.
  • Interfacing with fabrication and qualification teams.

Requirements

Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • 3+ years of industry experience in digital physical design.
  • Understanding of DFT architectures.
  • Proficient in PD flow using Cadence tools and TCL scripting.
  • Experience with backend flows including synthesis, floorplan, and physical verification.

Preferred skills include effective communication and teamwork capabilities.

Education Requirements

Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is required.
