Job Title

Senior Digital Design Verification Engineer, GPU Hardware

Role Summary

Join the GPU Hardware Verification team to plan and execute verification for complex GPU and SoC blocks to ensure functional correctness, performance, and first-pass silicon success. The role involves developing SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, driving verification strategies, and collaborating with architecture, RTL design, software, and system teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical guidance: 4+ years of digital design verification experience (ASIC/SoC/processor/accelerator/FPGA) or equivalent experience consistent with the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verifying GPU and SoC RTL from planning through sign-off and for improving verification productivity and infrastructure.

  • Lead verification planning and own verification activities for complex GPU and SoC blocks through sign-off.
  • Design and implement reusable SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches (agents, drivers, monitors, sequencers, scoreboards, reference models).
  • Create verification strategies, test plans, verification matrices, and traceability from requirements to tests and coverage.
  • Develop directed, constrained-random, and scenario-based tests for functional, performance, stress, and error conditions.
  • Verify interfaces and data movement (AMBA protocols such as AXI/AHB when applicable) and implement protocol checkers, assertions, and monitors.
  • Analyze simulation failures, waveforms, logs, and coverage; debug with RTL designers and drive fixes.
  • Track and close functional and code coverage gaps; support regression infrastructure, automation, and test triage.
  • Participate in design and verification reviews and support pre-silicon and post-silicon debug as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • 4+ years of hands-on digital design verification experience for ASIC/SoC/processor/accelerator/FPGA environments (indicative).
  • Strong hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and the UVM framework; experience developing and debugging reusable UVM environments.
  • Solid understanding of verification methodology: constrained-random stimulus, functional and code coverage, assertions, scoreboarding, and regression management.
  • Experience with simulation, waveform debug, and regression analysis using industry verification tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (C/C++, Python, Perl, Tcl or similar).
  • Good understanding of RTL behavior and digital design fundamentals: clocking, reset, FIFOs, pipelines, arbitration, and flow control.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Prior verification experience with CPU or GPU architectures, memory controllers, DMA engines, high-throughput data paths, or subsystem/system-level end-to-end verification.
  • Knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI/AHB) including ordering, bursts, backpressure, and error handling.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), formal methods, emulation, FPGA prototyping, or post-silicon validation.
  • Experience with performance, power, coherency, cache, memory, or interconnect behavior and coverage-driven verification for complex pipelines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree where the candidate demonstrates the required competencies.
