Senior Digital Design Verification Engineer
Texas InstrumentsJob Title
Senior Digital Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Design verification lead responsible for planning and executing functional verification for analog and mixed-signal custom ICs. Work within the advanced circuits and power solutions team to validate RTL, gate-level, and post-silicon behavior and ensure designs meet specifications.
Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware and product teams and support ATE pattern generation and silicon characterization.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 5 years of relevant design verification experience; role expects independent execution and technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include creating verification strategy, building environments, running simulations, and supporting silicon bring-up.
- Define verification strategy, test plans, test cases, and checkers; develop chip-top testbenches.
- Architect and implement UVM environments (agents, drivers, monitors, scoreboards).
- Execute RTL and gate-level simulations, run regressions, and track functional and code coverage to closure.
- Implement SystemVerilog assertions and coverage models for protocols such as I2C, ASI, SPI, UART.
- Perform advanced debug of design and testbench issues.
- Support post-silicon activities including ATE functional pattern generation and silicon characterization.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, and product teams to resolve issues and deliver products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
- Proficiency with Cadence toolflows (examples: Xcelium, vManager, JasperGold).
- Experience with Formal Property Verification (FPV), connectivity checks, and unreachability (UNR) analysis.
- Ability to write and debug CDC (Clock Domain Crossing) and RDC assertions.
- Experience with low-power verification using UPF and power-aware simulations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for global cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Scripting/automation using Python, Perl, or Shell.
- Familiarity with AMS/mixed-signal verification environments.
- Experience improving verification methodology, EDA vendor collaboration, or AI-driven verification techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in the design of equipment, components, or circuitry.
