Senior Digital Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification planning and execution for complex digital and mixed-signal IC designs. Build and maintain advanced UVM-based verification environments, drive verification strategy and metrics, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate cross-functional verification and silicon bring-up activities.
Experience Level
Senior β 4β8 years of relevant digital/mixed-signal IC verification experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification strategy, environment development, and delivery for complex mixed-signal products.
- Architect and implement comprehensive verification strategies for digital and mixed-signal designs.
- Design and develop UVM-based verification environments and advanced test benches.
- Define and track verification metrics, including code and functional coverage goals.
- Lead debug of complex design issues across digital and mixed-signal domains.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior verification engineers and influence team methodology.
- Collaborate with design teams to plan verification and resolve issues pre- and post-silicon.
- Lead silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation activities.
- Contribute to verification methodology improvements and best practices.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience required for the role.
- Expert-level SystemVerilog and UVM experience for architecting verification environments.
- Proven mastery in developing advanced test benches for complex mixed-signal products.
- Experience in verification planning, detailed coverage analysis, and metrics tracking.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Perl, TCL) for verification frameworks.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills for resolving complex design issues.
- Expertise with constrained-random and assertion-based verification techniques.
- Solid understanding of mixed-signal design principles and verification approaches.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence verification direction.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for customer or cross-site activities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
