Job Title

Senior Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Analog Devices' Data Center & Energy (DCE) group in Limerick seeks a Senior Digital Design Engineer to implement and verify digital logic for mixed-signal SoCs. The role focuses on RTL development, verification, synthesis, timing closure, and integration with analog, firmware, and validation teams to deliver manufacturable solutions.

Work includes supporting silicon bring-up, lab debug and measurement correlation, and contributing to methodology and automation improvements.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 4+ years of ASIC/SoC digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and verify RTL for digital blocks and subsystems; ensure functional correctness and timing closure.
  • Perform synthesis and static timing analysis; support DFT insertion and test pattern generation.
  • Collaborate with analog, firmware, and validation teams to integrate digital content into mixed-signal SoCs.
  • Assist with silicon bring-up and debug; support lab measurements and correlate results to simulation.
  • Contribute to methodology improvements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills:

  • Must-have: 4+ years ASIC/SoC digital design experience; proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog; scripting with Python and C.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with RTL-to-GDS flows (examples: Genus, Innovus, Tempus, Conformal); understanding of DFT concepts and basic test strategies.
  • Must-have: Working knowledge of analog circuit operation and lab practices; strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently; good written and verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with FPGA prototyping and system-level modeling; familiarity with power system components (VRMs, IBCs, BMCs) and board-level sequencing.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to standard interfaces and bus protocols (AMBA, I²C, SPI); interest in methodology and automation improvements.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering required (or equivalent practical experience). MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred. The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of listed degrees.
