Job Title

Senior DFX Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior DFX Engineer plans, implements, verifies and supports silicon bring-up for design-for-test (DFX) at IP and full-chip levels for NVIDIA semiconductor products. The role leads DFX areas within projects and works closely with ASIC/SoC design, verification, and test teams to improve testability and debug flows.

Focus areas include DFT/DFX architecture, test pattern verification, silicon debug on ATE, and automation of flows.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical background: 4+ years of relevant experience or a PhD in DFT or a related domain.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Plan and implement DFX and DFT features at IP and full-chip levels.
  • Verify test logic and validate test patterns for complex VLSI designs.
  • Lead DFX areas on projects, set direction for DFX design and flows.
  • Support silicon bring-up and debug on ATE; analyze failures and support diagnostics.
  • Improve DFX architecture, design practices, and automation flows to increase test coverage and debug efficiency.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and test engineering teams to ensure production readiness.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills:

  • Must-have: Experience with Verilog and ASIC design.
  • Must-have: Proven knowledge of JTAG, scan, ATPG, fault models, and ATE testing.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical skills for verification and validation of test patterns and logic on sophisticated VLSI designs.
  • Must-have: Experience in silicon debug and bring-up on ATE, including understanding of pattern formats, failure processing, and diagnostics.
  • Must-have: Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Nice-to-have: Programming/scripting experience in Perl, Python, or Tcl.

Education Requirements

MSEE with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in DFT or related domains (for example Design for Test, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering). No other certifications were specified.
