Job Title

Senior DFT Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for planning, building and executing verification for Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) features for AMD chiplet SoCs. Work closely with architects, RTL/DFT designers and firmware engineers across global teams to validate new and legacy test infrastructure and resolve design issues.

Experience Level

Senior β€” preferred 8+ years of experience in DFT design verification or equivalent verification roles.

Responsibilities

Primary verification and debug responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers and firmware engineers to define verification objectives for new DFT/DFD features.
  • Estimate effort and plan verification tasks, including testbench and infrastructure changes.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random DFT verification tests using SystemVerilog/UVM.
  • Debug test failures, determine root causes, and work with design teams to resolve defects.
  • Analyze and extend legacy DFT test plans to cover new features.
  • Write and maintain scripts to update simulation files and automate verification flows.
  • Recreate post-silicon failures in pre-silicon environments and perform silicon root-cause analysis.
  • Use JTAG and related protocols for debugging and validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; assets listed separately.

  • Proven experience in DFT design verification for SoCs; strong hands-on debug capability.
  • SystemVerilog and UVM experience for testbench development and complex SoC verification.
  • Advanced scripting skills (Python, Perl) for automation and testbench infrastructure.
  • Deep knowledge of digital and RTL design and standard verification flows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical debugging skills; able to debug with minimal logging.
  • Experience debugging firmware and RTL with simulation tools.
  • Ability to work in complex infrastructure environments and collaborate across distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: prior leadership or mentorship experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
