Job Title

Senior DfT Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior Design-for-Test (DfT) Engineer at NXP Caen you will design and implement DfT solutions for digital and mixed-signal IPs and SoCs for automotive products, ensuring high test coverage and efficient manufacturing test flows.

Work with SoC design, verification and test teams to deliver DfT architectures, perform insertion and verification, and support production ramp-up.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies 7+ years of experience in DfT design and verification for complex SoCs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include DfT architecture, insertion, verification, and production support.

  • Develop and implement DfT architectures and methodologies (scan, JTAG, memory BIST, logic BIST).
  • Perform DfT insertion and verification using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Generate and validate test patterns (ATPG, BIST) and analyze fault coverage.
  • Analyze coverage reports and collaborate with design teams to resolve DfT-related design issues.
  • Define and validate manufacturing test plans with verification and test engineering teams.
  • Debug silicon test failures and provide support for production ramp-up.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of DfT methodologies and document specifications and test plans.

Requirements

Must-have skills and tools; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Proven experience in DfT design and verification for complex SoCs; strong understanding of DfT techniques (Scan, JTAG, MBIST, LBIST, Boundary Scan).
  • Proficiency with DfT/ATPG/fault-simulation tools (examples: Tessent, Synopsys DFT Compiler, Cadence Modus, Synopsys Z01X).
  • Solid understanding of digital design principles and ASIC/SoC design flow.
  • Experience with scripting for automation (Tcl, Python, Perl).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative team; fluency in English.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with security and safety, familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing test processes.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
