Job Title
Senior DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design-for-test (DFT) work for ASIC/SoC projects, owning DFT specifications, architecture and implementation. Provide methodology support, automate DFT flows, deliver ATPG patterns, and assist silicon bring-up and failure analysis. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across product teams to meet coverage, power, and test-time targets.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 6β8 years of directly related ASIC/SoC DFT experience as stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include DFT architecture, implementation, verification, and support for silicon testing.
- Define DFT specifications and architecture; implement using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
- Automate and maintain DFT flows and provide methodology support across product teams.
- Develop high-quality, verified ATPG patterns with focus on coverage, low power, and low test time.
- Perform pre- and post-silicon verification, debug, and failure analysis.
- Support silicon bring-up and test-failure diagnosis.
- Mentor and guide junior team members; work cross-functionally with design and verification teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 6β8 years of direct ASIC/SoC DFT experience.
- Expert knowledge of DFT architecture and planning, including Scan, Test Compression, At-Speed Test, MBIST, and LBIST.
- Hands-on experience with Tessent DFT tools and with scan/compression insertion, on-chip clock control insertion, ATPG, and DFT verification.
- Gate-level simulation experience with SDF and experience supporting silicon test bring-up and failure analysis.
- Scripting skills in Perl, Python, or Tcl.
- Strong verbal and written communication and ability to collaborate with peer organizations.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for work-related activities.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Cadence and Synopsys DFT tools.
- Familiarity with IEEE 1149/JTAG, static timing analysis, synthesis and DFT insertion, low-power scan and UPF, and additional BIST methodologies.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
