Job Title

Senior DFT Design Engineer (ATPG/Scan stitching)

Role Summary

Senior DFT engineer responsible for implementation, verification and improvement of DFT flows (scan, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, JTAG) to support digital design delivery. You will work on scan insertion, ATPG pattern generation and post-silicon support as part of a distributed DFT team collaborating across sites and time zones.

Experience Level

Senior. Hiring guidance: typically 7+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years with a Master's degree in Electronic/Electrical engineering (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include DFT implementation, pattern generation, verification and silicon support.

  • Implement and verify DFT features: scan, MBIST, LBIST and JTAG.
  • Perform scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation; verify ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation.
  • Debug DFT issues and correlate Spyglass-DFTDRC results with coverage data.
  • Analyze test coverage and test cost; drive coverage improvement and test-cost reduction.
  • Provide post-silicon support for bring-up and yield learning.
  • Develop and maintain automation and debug scripts to support DFT flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise listing of preferred additional skills follows.

  • Hands-on ATPG experience and familiarity with files and flows required to run ATPG.
  • Experience with scan insertion, scan-stitching concepts and related flows.
  • Proven debug skills and proficiency in scripting for automation and debug.
  • Experience verifying ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation.
  • Experience supporting post-silicon bring-up and yield analysis.
  • Experience collaborating across geographically distributed engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Mentor Tessent ATPG and MBIST insertion flows.
  • Familiarity with Spyglass-DFT and Spyglass-DFTDRC debug.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and text-processing scripting (TCL, AWK, SED).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
