Senior Designer, Layout

Role Summary

Member of the Sustainable Automation (SAU) team responsible for analog and mixed-signal IC layout for industrial automation applications (robotics, sensing, connectivity, control).

The role owns section-level or moderately complex layout implementation from floorplanning through verification, ensuring designs meet specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Independently execute section-level or moderately complex IC layouts from floorplan to verification, including post-simulation updates.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, layout standards, and quality requirements.
  • Perform layout reviews, self-checks, and verification tasks (DRC/LVS/consistency checks).
  • Collaborate with analog designers, digital implementation teams, and assembly groups to integrate layouts correctly.
  • Manage assigned tasks, prioritize workload, and deliver outputs on schedule.
  • Document design learnings and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

  • Proven expertise in section-level IC layout design and layout best practices.
  • Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso XL and Calibre verification tools.
  • Solid foundation in layout principles, cross-sections, and IC reliability considerations.
  • Strong collaboration and clear communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required; position is daytime (1st) shift.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with top-level or chip-level layout is an advantage.
