Job Title
Senior Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join a semiconductor verification team responsible for ensuring first-time-right layouts and reliable tape-out across multiple design groups. The role defines, validates, and enforces physical verification rules (DRC/LVS), audits layout deliverables, and improves automation and methodology used by design and foundry teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Professional). The posting specifies 5+ years of experience in semiconductor physical verification, CAD, or design automation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include enforcing verification sign-off, validating rule decks and automation, and establishing standards and regression tests to protect tape-out quality.
- Enforce sign-off compliance across design groups using physical verification tools.
- Evaluate and test DRC, LVS, and PDK decks and associated mask automation code.
- Review and advise on complex layout fixes with design and technology teams.
- Audit and validate internal scripts, code infrastructure, and automation workflows.
- Build automated regression tests to ensure multi-group deliverables do not break tape-out flows.
- Develop golden standards and unified design methodologies for verification code and layout handling.
- Provide technical support and tool training to logic, physical design, and layout teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Preferred items are listed separately.
- 5+ years experience in semiconductor physical verification, CAD, or design automation.
- Hands-on experience with industry verification tools such as Siemens Calibre, Synopsys IC Validator, or Cadence Pegasus (Synopsys IC Validator).
- Advanced scripting ability to automate verification flows and validate automation workflows.
- Proven ability to read, write, and debug runsets and verification rule decks.
- Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes and technology-development methodologies.
- Experience auditing cross-functional teams or managing multi-site tape-out flows (preferred).
- Familiarity with revision control systems and strong communication skills to negotiate layout/code trade-offs.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
