Job Title

Senior Design for Test (DFT) Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for DFT architecture, implementation and verification for ASIC/SoC products. Deliver ATPG patterns and DFT solutions, support silicon bring-up and failure analysis, and maintain DFT flow automation. Work with design, synthesis, timing and test teams and mentor junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 6–8 years of directly related ASIC/SoC DFT experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

  • Define DFT specifications and architecture for ASIC/SoC projects.
  • Implement DFT (scan insertion, compression, on-chip clock control, etc.) using industry tools.
  • Develop and maintain DFT flow automation and methodology improvements.
  • Generate and deliver high-quality ATPG patterns and coverage analysis.
  • Perform pre- and post-silicon verification, gate-level simulation with SDF, and DFT verification.
  • Support silicon test bring-up, failure analysis and debug.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, synthesis, timing, manufacturing) to meet test, power and test-time goals.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • 6–8 years of directly related ASIC/SoC DFT experience.
  • Expert knowledge of DFT architecture and planning.
  • Hands-on experience with Tessent DFT tools.
  • Strong experience with scan, test compression, at-speed test, MBIST and LBIST.
  • Practical experience with scan/compression insertion, on-chip clock control insertion, ATPG and DFT verification.
  • Gate-level simulation experience with SDF.
  • Silicon test bring-up and failure analysis/debug experience.
  • Scripting proficiency in Perl, Python or Tcl.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Cadence and Synopsys DFT toolsets.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 1149/JTAG and static timing analysis.
  • Experience with BIST, synthesis and DFT insertion, low-power scan and UPF.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Education Requirements
