Job Title

Senior Design Engineer - Memory Subsystem

Role Summary

Responsible for micro-architecture and RTL development of memory subsystem components used in NVIDIA GPUs and SoCs. Work cross-functionally with architects, verification, synthesis/timing, VLSI/physical design, FPGA and software teams to deliver verified, synthesis- and timing-clean designs.

Focus is on implementing features that meet performance, power and area targets and supporting bring-up and post-silicon debug.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies 4+ years of design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own micro-architecture and RTL development for assigned design modules.
  • Architect features to satisfy performance, power and area requirements.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects to define critical features and trade-offs.
  • Work with verification teams to ensure correctness of implemented features.
  • Coordinate with timing, VLSI and physical design teams to meet timing and interface constraints and ensure routability.
  • Prototype designs with FPGA and coordinate with software teams for system-level testing.
  • Support post-silicon verification, bring-up and lab debug.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills follow; preferred items are listed separately.

  • 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience.
  • Experience in micro-architecture and RTL development of complex designs.
  • Exposure to simulation and verification tools (VCS or equivalent) and debug tools such as Debussy or GDB.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, prototyping, timing analysis, floor-planning, ECO, bring-up and lab debug.
  • Expertise in Verilog.

Nice-to-have:

  • Design experience in memory subsystem or network interconnect IP.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell).
