Role Summary

Design and implement custom IO and analog/mixed-signal circuits for advanced CMOS products. Work on transistor-level design, simulations, signal integrity, and support silicon bring-up and production ramp.

Collaborate with system, package, reliability, product, and physical-design teams to meet performance, power, noise, and reliability targets.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting lists 2–4 years of relevant IO/analog design experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver transistor-level IO and mixed-signal IP, validate in simulation and silicon, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

• Design custom IO circuits (GPIO, LVDS, LVCMOS, SSTL, HSTL, DDR interfaces) and high-speed SerDes support circuits.
• Develop and optimize ESD protection, level shifters, input buffers, output drivers, and on-chip termination.
• Perform pre-layout and post-layout simulations for functionality, timing, power, noise, and reliability.
• Perform signal integrity analysis: IBIS model generation, package-aware simulations, crosstalk and reflection analysis.
• Drive layout reviews and coordinate with physical design to meet quality and performance targets.
• Support silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging, and production ramp activities.
• Maintain design documentation, specifications, and verification reports.

Requirements

Core technical skills and hands-on experience required for role.

Must-have:

• Experience in analog/mixed-signal or IO circuit design, including transistor-level design and simulation.
• Strong understanding of CMOS device physics and analog circuit fundamentals.
• Practical experience with Cadence Virtuoso for custom circuit design.
• Experience with SPICE-based simulators (Spectre, HSPICE, FineSim).
• Familiarity with LVS, DRC, EMIR, reliability checks, process corners, Monte Carlo analysis, and yield optimization.
• ESD design methodologies and IO architectures/standards knowledge.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

• Experience with DDR4/DDR5, LPDDR, USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, and high-speed SerDes.
• Package modeling and SI/PI analysis tool experience; IBIS and IBIS-AMI model generation.
• Familiarity with ESD standards (HBM, CDM, IEC) and silicon validation/lab characterization.
• Scripting skills in Python, Perl, Tcl, or SKILL.
• Experience with advanced technology nodes (16nm/7nm/5nm preferred).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field (as listed in the posting).
