Job Title

Senior Design Engineer — CPU Fetch Unit

Role Summary

Design and implement the CPU fetch unit microarchitecture for Tachyum's Prodigy processors, supporting both general-purpose and AI workloads. Collaborate with microarchitecture, verification, and backend teams to define fetch behavior, branch prediction, and interfaces to other CPU subsystems.

Experience Level

Senior; ideal 5–8 years of relevant CPU/microarchitecture design experience. Exceptional candidates with different experience levels may be considered.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on architecting and delivering high-performance instruction fetch and branch-prediction logic.

  • Architect and design fetch unit and branch-prediction components for high-performance processors.
  • Develop RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog and support synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), CDC checks, and LINT.
  • Integrate the fetch unit with front-end, execution, verification, and validation teams.
  • Optimize designs for deep-submicron low-power processes to meet timing and power targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Experience with branch prediction algorithms and instruction fetch design of high-performance microprocessors.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture trade-offs.
  • Logic design experience with deep-submicron technologies and low-power design techniques.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog, synthesis flows, STA, CDC, and LINT.
  • Effective collaboration and communication within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Onsite work in Las Vegas, NV.

Nice-to-have: C programming and scripting (Perl, shell, Python, awk).

Education Requirements

Not specified.
