Senior Design Engineer (Automotive)

Role Summary

The Senior Design Engineer (Automotive) will work within Monolithic Power Systems, focusing on the development of integrated power solutions. This role encompasses designing, validating, and supervising layout activities while supporting both silicon-level and application-level evaluations.

Experience Level

Senior - Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in analog design.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer include:

• Collaborating with the system architect on new product definitions.
• Executing design development activities, including layout, simulation, and validation.
• Supervising and verifying layout designs.
• Preparing test plans and conducting product characterization.
• Supporting bench evaluations at both the silicon and application levels.
• Documenting various engineering processes.
• Conducting behavioral modeling of analog and mixed-mode circuits.
• Providing leadership in design and coaching junior team members.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in analog design.
• Experience with power switch design and production is preferred.
• Extensive experience in the design of switching DC-DC regulators, particularly multi-phase buck, boost, and buck-boost converters.
• Deep understanding of different control architectures.
• Knowledge of mix-signal IC design and device physics applicable to Power IC design.
• Creative problem solver with strong communication skills.
• Expertise in HSPICE/PSPICE/Spectre simulator.
• Strong time management skills for on-time project delivery.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Education Requirements

A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is required.
