Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include device design, simulation, characterization and production transfer.
- Design BAW and SAW microwave-acoustic devices and filters (bandpass, ladder, notch, CRF, acoustic-assisted, etc.).
- Perform acoustic and electromagnetic simulations using commercial and internal tools; produce final device layouts for mask creation.
- Support feasibility studies, technical competitive analyses and new product definition with marketing and project leads.
- Collaborate with process and R&D engineers on fabrication variations and capabilities.
- Work with characterization and test engineers to evaluate and diagnose devices using RF/microwave test equipment.
- Document product and design information; support transfer of new products to production.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design flow, methods and cycle time.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills are listed first; nice-to-have items follow.
- RF circuit design experience (microwave resonators, filters, couplers, antennas, amplifiers).
- EM simulation experience (HFSS or equivalent) and layout design/troubleshooting skills.
- Impedance matching, tuning, and filter component evaluation and integration experience.
- RF device characterization and system-level measurement experience.
- Knowledge of microelectronic fabrication, high-volume manufacturing and statistical/process-improvement methods.
- Experience working with characterization, test and product engineering teams for product transfer.
- Direct BAW or SAW design experience preferred.
- Programming/scripting skills and/or MATLAB (desired).
