Senior Design Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Senior Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Design Engineer in the NVE Design Engineering Core group responsible for analog and mixed-signal circuit design for NAND memory products. Work focuses on designing, simulating, validating, and optimizing core and mixed-signal blocks to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability targets.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies at least 2+ years of NAND design-relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver NAND circuit blocks.
- Design, simulate, optimize, and floor-plan NAND analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks.
- Evaluate design feasibility and analyze circuit functionality across use cases.
- Implement analog/mixed-signal circuits to meet performance and reliability targets.
- Validate block- and chip-level performance using industry-standard simulation tools.
- Collaborate with teams to analyze and reduce NAND power consumption and improve manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain Python-based AI utilities that integrate with EDA tools to accelerate workflows.
- Generate and review user/build documentation and test collateral.
- Coordinate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing for cost, reliability, and time-to-market tradeoffs.
Requirements
Required technical skills and attributes; preferred items listed separately.
Must-have:
- Proficiency in analog/mixed-signal circuit design (charge pumps, op amps, DACs, ADCs, linear regulators, oscillators, bandgaps).
- Solid fundamentals in semiconductor and device physics and analog/mixed-signal design; familiarity with reliability issues (CHC, NBTI, stress, snapback) and EM/IR analysis.
- Strong circuit debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in circuit verification and optimization, layout planning, parasitic extraction, and guiding layout implementation.
- Practical experience employing AI tools to assist development workflows.
- Self-motivated with strong verbal and written English communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with analog and digital simulators such as HSPICE, Fast SPICE, or Verilog.
- Familiarity with Cadence design and LVS/DRC tools.
- Experience with scripting languages and Linux/UNIX.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering required. MS or PhD in a related field preferred or equivalent practical experience accepted. The posting also specifies 2+ years of NAND design-relevant experience.
