Senior Debug System Engineer, Datacenter

Role Summary

Senior System Debug Engineer on the datacenter product engineering Operations team responsible for failure analysis and debugging during New Product Introduction (NPI). The role ensures GPU server products transfer reliably from development to mass production.

Work focuses on servers, baseboards and rack-level systems, collaborating with development, factory, vendors and partners to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Experience Level

Senior-level — 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform failure analysis on GPU baseboards and servers across component, system, and rack levels.
  • Analyze logs and failures spanning hardware, software, and firmware; propose debug and mitigation strategies.
  • Design and execute experiments; collect and analyze data to determine root cause.
  • Support Design for Test / Manufacturing (DFx) enabling and Build-for-Test efforts to meet schedule.
  • Prepare root-cause reports and corrective-action plans; produce clear debug documentation and guides.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, factory personnel, internal engineering teams, and overseas partners.
  • Travel to factories as required to support debug and production issues.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills (must-have unless noted):

  • Extensive failure analysis or debug experience on motherboards, graphics cards, servers, PCs, or datacenter systems.
  • Demonstrated experience enabling DFx requirements and supporting manufacturing readiness.
  • Strong skills in one or more areas: hardware, software, component, process, test, or validation.
  • Experience with laboratory characterization equipment such as oscilloscopes and protocol/analyzer tools.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel to support factory efforts as required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
