Job Title

Senior Datacenter Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Datacenter Product Development team to productize and launch NVIDIA GPU boards for HGX/MGX/DGX server platforms. The role coordinates across hardware, firmware, software, quality and contract manufacturers to define test requirements, establish production processes, and optimize yield, cost and quality during production ramps.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience in hardware design, diagnostics/validation, or manufacturing test of ASIC chips, boards, or systems.

Responsibilities

Deliver and validate production-ready GPU boards through definition of tests, debug procedures, and production optimization.

  • Plan and develop diagnostic tests and debug procedures for next‑generation products focused on high‑speed signals.
  • Debug complex interactions between hardware, firmware and software during system power‑up and boot sequences.
  • Define and enforce DFx requirements related to signal integrity, layout, mechanical, and assembly procedures.
  • Own product(s) end‑to‑end through the product lifecycle and drive successful production ramps across a matrixed team.
  • Develop test specifications for system‑level manufacturing screens to meet HW coverage and quality targets.
  • Work with contract manufacturers to define assembly lines, test station count, and fixture requirements optimized for cost and throughput.
  • Analyze volume data and run lab experiments to resolve yield and test failures; craft workarounds and corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement on production screen definitions to meet test time, yield and DPPM goals.
  • Support customer and quality teams during escalations to identify root causes and close coverage gaps.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in hardware design, diagnostics/validation, or manufacturing test of ASICs, boards, or systems.
  • Proficient with HW interfaces such as PCIe (Gen4+), InfiniBand, Ethernet, I3C/I2C, SPI, and USB.
  • In‑depth understanding of HPC server architecture and out‑of‑band management.
  • Familiarity with FPGA/CPLD implementation, firmware secure‑boot and encrypted images.
  • Experience defining test and validation specifications for complex hardware systems or HPC servers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills; ability to institutionalize corrective actions.
  • Process‑oriented with a track record of optimization and continuous improvement on production test flows.
  • Self‑starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across organizations.

Nice-to-have:

  • Hands‑on board/system electrical design, diagnostics software or device driver development experience.
  • Practical debugging experience using lab test equipment and Linux tools.
  • Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, and automation for HW testing and log parsing.
  • Operations research, industrial engineering, or statistics skills.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
