Senior Custom ASIC Engineering Lead
Role Summary
Lead and coordinate cross-functional internal and external teams to deliver custom ASIC programs from RFQ through production. The role focuses on physical design quality, timing closure, manufacturability and customer-facing technical guidance for complex chips (AI, HPC, networking, storage).

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on technical review, program management, and customer technical leadership.
- Manage external customer ASIC programs end-to-end: RFQs, IP/technology collaterals, design, test, packaging, fabrication, bring-up and production.
- Review and execute physical-design flows to verify incoming customer netlists meet tape-out quality standards.
- Advise customers on EDA tools, flows and design methodologies; run technical Q&A and training with internal experts.
- Proactively identify design and schedule risks; drive cross-functional mitigation plans.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions with marketing, sales, legal and compliance on customer projects.
- Mentor and assist internal teams and collaborate with other groups as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience required for successful performance in this role.

Must-have: Multiple tape-outs in advanced technology nodes and strong ability to identify design issues from EDA reports.

Must-have: Hands-on experience in physical design and static timing analysis (STA); familiarity with EDA tools and physical-design flows.

Must-have: Ability to analyze PPA tradeoffs across libraries and architectures; knowledge of low-power design and power management.

Must-have: Programming/scripting experience (TCL, shell, or similar).

Nice-to-have: Exposure to SERDES protocols, front-end logic design/Verilog, microarchitecture, verification, synthesis and DRC.

Nice-to-have: Knowledge of DFT methods including scan, memory BIST and repair.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years of related experience.
