Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Bring up workloads and perform performance analysis and projection on silicon and full-system simulators.
  • Study workloads across AI/DL, CSP, HPC, and autonomous vehicle domains to identify critical behavior.
  • Reduce real-world use cases to directed test cases for debugging and measurement.
  • Analyze and debug performance scaling bottlenecks on multi-core and multi-socket CPU and CPU/GPU systems.
  • Work with CPU and interconnect architects to recommend software and hardware changes for future designs.
  • Benchmark NVIDIA CPU offerings against competitors and suggest optimizations.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred qualifications (education items summarized separately below).

Must-have:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in CPU performance, benchmarking, or systems performance engineering.
  • Experience with CPU workloads and performance analysis, including test development and benchmarking for CPU and I/O.
  • Deep knowledge of CPU microarchitecture and system architecture.
  • Proven ability to analyze and debug multi-core and multi-socket performance issues and to translate findings into architecture or software improvements.
  • Experience working with architects and cross-functional teams to drive design changes.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with the ARM instruction set architecture (ISA).
  • PhD or research experience in a related area.
  • GPU driver experience or knowledge of GPU-accelerated workloads and modeling.
  • Experience optimizing AI frameworks (for example, PyTorch) and modeling performance of accelerated workloads.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is indicated; the posting also notes "or equivalent experience." PhD or research experience is listed as a preferred/stand-out qualification.
