Job Title

Senior CPU Front End Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

Join a microprocessor design team focused on next-generation Intel E-Core CPU development. The role provides technical leadership in RTL front-end methodologies, drives improvements in RTL coding and debug practices, and applies automation and AI tools to increase engineering efficiency.

The position collaborates with architecture, backend, and other design teams to deliver CPU IP that meets power, performance, area, timing, and physical design requirements.

Experience Level

Senior. Requires several years of silicon/CPU development and leadership experience-minimums described under Requirements and Education Requirements.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include advancing front-end methodology, improving RTL development efficiency, and supporting cross-team delivery of CPU IP.

  • Lead and apply AI tools and methodologies to improve RTL coding, verification, and debug efficiency.
  • Advance front-end methodologies; contribute to architectural and microarchitectural tradeoffs to improve scalability and flexibility.
  • Develop strategies, tools, and techniques for RTL development, logic optimization, and meeting PPA (power, performance, area) and timing targets while preserving physical design integrity.
  • Provide solutions that bridge front-end and back-end flows; deliver across multiple domains.
  • Collaborate with architecture, backend, and other design teams to deliver IP on schedule and quality targets.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing technical organization and promote core team values and best practices.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required to be considered for this role. Preferred items are listed separately.

Must-have
  • Hands-on experience with RTL methodologies, RTL coding, and RTL debug.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve RTL development productivity and quality.
  • 6+ years of experience in CPU/ASIC silicon development (CPU logic).
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience delivering successful IP projects.
  • Practical knowledge of logic optimization and meeting PPA and timing goals with attention to physical design constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; effective in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
  • Experience with x86 CPU microarchitecture and x86 memory management execution.
  • Proven track record of driving front-end methodology adoption and realizing product-level benefits from AI-driven workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or related field with 8+ years' work experience; OR Master's in a related field with 7+ years' experience; OR PhD in a related field with 4+ years' experience. Equivalent combinations of industry experience, internships, coursework, or research are acceptable as described in the posting.
