Job Title

Senior Core Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Perform verification of CPU core logic and microarchitecture to ensure functional correctness, performance, power, and reliability targets are met. Work within a silicon/platform engineering team on pre-silicon verification, debug, and verification infrastructure development.

Experience Level

Senior - expects at least 4 years of experience in ASIC or FPGA design verification, preferably with CPU or E-Core designs.

Responsibilities

Primary verification and debug responsibilities:

• Plan and execute functional verification of CPU logic and IP to meet specifications.
• Develop testbenches, verification environments, and verification plans using SystemVerilog/UVM.
• Define and run system-level simulations to validate functionality, power, and timing.
• Debug presilicon failures, reproduce issues, and drive corrective fixes with RTL teams.
• Collaborate with CPU architects, RTL designers, and physical-design teams to close functional and performance goals.
• Document verification plans, lead technical reviews, and maintain verification infrastructure and methodologies.
• Contribute to definition and validation of CPU architecture and microarchitecture features.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Minimum ~4 years experience in ASIC/FPGA design verification, preferably CPU-related.
• Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM for verification.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, C/C++).
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard verification tools and methodologies.
• Demonstrated debug skills in presilicon environments and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical issues clearly.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with platform-level design verification and microprocessor-based systems.
• Proven problem-solving and advanced debugging expertise.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (required per posting). Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (with 3 years relevant experience) or PhD (may be acceptable with no prior professional experience). Fields specified: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
